The following is a series of e-mail messages that took place between the webmaster of
Acupuncture.com and a migraine headache patient.

I am going to go to the Chinese School of Medicine
in St. Petersburg, Florida, to receive acupuncture and herbs to alleviate my
migraines caused by hormones. My neurologist has been unable to find
a
preventative cure for me, and very little has helped to get rid of the pain
once
the migraine arrives. My doctor and I had a debate yesterday, and a bit
of a falling out, because he doesn't think acupuncture will work. I
told
him I am interested in at least hearing what the Chinese doctor has to
say. He told me that the doctor will say, "It is the Chinese way, and
acupuncture affects the Meridian system." He then said, "there is no
scientific basis for a Meridian system.

Do you need you doctor's permission to get acupuncture treatments for your
headaches? If not, why are we dealing with this?
The ability of your TCM practitioner to describe things in western terms
may or may not be present. Fortunately, that will have no effect on the efficacy of the
treatment. : )
Acupuncture loves migraines.

Hi Al,
Back in September I sent you this email because I was skeptical about the
success of acupuncture in treating migraine. I wanted to write to you and
tell you that I have been getting acupuncture and taking herbs for the past
two months, and it has worked like magic. Not only am I migraine free, I
have more energy than I know what to do with, I feel 10 years younger, I'm
happy all the time, and my nervous system feels calmer. I have gone from
being scared and skeptical to now thinking that people who don't get it
don't know what they're missing out on. And on more than one occasion I
have thought about the sentence you included in your email to me,
"Acupuncture loves migraines". Well, I just wanted to share my success with
you.
Thank you,
Susan Yanush
