Migraine Headaches

By T.L.

My mother suffered for years with terrible headaches. To the point she would vomit around the clock for 24 hrs before it would ease up. My sister and I would have to take her to the emergency room they would drug her up and send her home. We went to doctor after doctor trying to find out what was wrong with her. They would say its just a migraine. Well after about 3 years they figured out it was muscle spasms in her neck. Doing acupuncture in those muscles in her neck finally relieved her pain.

(editor's note)

Migraines can be stress induced, as can be muscle tension. What caused both the symptoms was the Liver's response to stress which includes both problems. In any case, acupuncture is effective on both manifestations of the same problem.

There is a neat saying in Chinese medicine. "One needle cures a hundred diseases." What that means is that although the patient may have a variety of symptoms, one needle that addresses the underlying and common cause to them all can treat them all. This patient had two manifestations, but one cause. In treating that cause, treated both manifestations.
