Q:I’ve had chronic eczema on
my hands for years, which I believe is stress-related. What can I do for relief?
A: Eczema has many etiologies including autoimmune conditions which, as you
correctly indicated, are often aggravated with emotional and physical stresses or exposure to extremes.
The first thing you should do is avoid the situations that exacerbate the condition: extreme weather
conditions, extreme emotional conditions, excessive sunlight, chemicals, and soap. Change your soaps,
detergents, and shampoo to hypoallergenic homeopathic brands. Incorporate more broccoli, dandelion,
mung beans, water chestnuts, and winter melon into your diet.
Try these remedies::
1. Mash daikon radish and apply to the area.
2. Make tea from dandelion and corn silk; drink three times daily.
3. Mix equal amounts of salt and borax dissolved in warm water.
Wash the affected area three times daily with this solution.
