Q: Can acupuncture treat ovarian cysts?

A: Ovarian cysts are very common and many women do not even show symptoms or are aware that they have them. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, ovarian cysts can develop due to phlegm, dampness, and blood stasis. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be effective for decreasing the size of ovarian cysts and relieving any pain and/or sense of fullness they can cause. Please consult an acupuncturist in your area for further help. You can use the Find an Acupuncturist button to locate one.

Q: Can you help treat male infertility?

A: In Traditional Chinese Medicine, most cases of male infertility are related with a Kidney Deficiency. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatment help strengthen the Kidney function. Male infertility can also be due to Liver Qi Stagnation or Damp Heat in the Lower Jiao. Whatever the underlying imbalances are, acupuncture and herbs can help improve sperm motility, count, and morphology. Sperm analysis can help monitor your progress in treatment.
