Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

2. Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

3. Possess board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

4. Have completed 300 hour acupuncture training course and one year experience in acupuncture therapy.

5. Have experience in other modalities of complementary and alternative medicine. Other modalities of therapy that may be used include biofeedback, guided imagery, hypnosis, meditation, aromatherapy, and yoga. Herbal therapy and homeotherapy are not currently supported within the military medical facilities and these techniques cannot be used unless permission is received from the Commanding Officer via staff privileging process.

Services will normally be required Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, excluding Federal holidays. There may be times when the Acupuncturists will be scheduled for duty outside the regular scheduled hours in order to meet the patient care and medical education missions of the Anesthesia and Pain Services group. When this occurs, Acupuncturists will be granted an equal amount of compensatory time office mutually agreed upon by the Chief of Anesthesia Services (or designee) and Acupuncturists.

We have two practitioner rooms and a massage/bodywork room available for rent in a studio that has been designed to be eco-friendly; the most obvious being our 20' x 12' planted vertical green wall, which filters and cleans the air next to a huge skylight; the rest of the space is modern, using reclaimed wood, bamboo floors, exposed brick etc.

The two practitioner rooms are sky-lit with very high ceilings; one is 10'x10', one 11'x11'. Both have built in desks, shelves, file cabinet, a really cool trove wall-covering on one wall, and low VOC paint. We are creating a space that is healthy on the inside and out; so that working out or restoring happens in an environment that possesses integrity and health.

We will be supplying all linens, towels, cleaning service etc; and clients are free to use the training facility and amenities.

Rooms are available for rent beginning in June for $25/hour or $2000/month.
