 Chinese Name:
Pohu (English translation: Po Door)Location: On the back, 3.0 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra. Indications:
Functions: Descends rebellious Lung Qi, relieves cough, activates the meridian, alleviates pain. Notes: UB 42 is the outer Back-Shu of the Lung. Its special feature is that it helps treat the psychological/spiritual aspect of the Lung. So, it is generally used to treat prolonged sadness and grief. Needling: Oblique insertion .5 - .8 cun. |
