Urinary Bladder 11
Chinese Name: Dazhu (English translation: Great Shuttle)

Location:  On the back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra.

Classification: Converging point of Bone
Crossing point of the Urinary Bladder and Small Intestine Meridians
Sea of Blood point

Indications:

  • All types of bone disease (including pain in the bone, joint pain in the shoulder, back, lumbar, sacrum and knee)
  • Fever, cough, headache, nasal congestion

Functions: Benefits the bones and joints, releases the exterior, dispels Wind, spreads and descends Lung Qi, stops cough.

Needling: Oblique insertion .5 - .8 cun.
