San Jiao 22

Chinese Name: Erheliao (English translation: Ear Harmony Crevice)

Location: On the side of the head, on the posterior border of the hairline of the temple, at the level with the root of the auricle, posterior to the superficial temporal artery.

Classification: Crossing point of the San Jiao, the Gall Bladder, and the Small Intestine Meridians


  • Headache, tinnitus
  • Trismus, wry mouth

Functions: Dispels Wind, alleviates pain.

Needling: Oblique or subcutaneous insertion .3 - .5 cun. Avoid the artery.
